I am an Illustrator from Southern California and studied at California State University, Long Beach. Since 2008, I have been a Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators member, created art as gifts for nonprofit organizations, and partnered in starting an educational clip art company. My work is derived from imaginative childhood stories and day dreams. I create imagery with silly monsters and animals, playing alongside kids in simplified shapes and bold compositions. My process builds through different layers of traditional media. Graphite, ink, pastels, puffy paint and tissue paper all work together to reflect the processes that might show up in grade school crafting projects. I hope through my picture book illustrations and writing, children will be encouraged to dream, imagine, and not forget that there is so much more than what is in front of them.
